Across this five day programme, you will immerse yourself in the study of Human Rights and Peace Building from the perspectives of academic staff in the Schools of History, Politics, Law and Sociology. Queen’s University is well known as being one of the top universities in the UK for Human Rights and Peace Building, so you will benefit from engagement with some of the leading academics in this field. Throughout the summer school you will: Take part in teaching sessions with the Schools of History and Anthropology, Politics, Law and Sociology Visit Stormont Buildings (home to the NI Assembly) and learn about the history of ‘the Troubles’ in Northern Ireland Tour Belfast Stay in Queen's student accommodation. Find out why more and more British students make the move to Belfast to study. You will also have the chance to learn more about University life, and will have the opportunity to visit our award winning Students’ Union, our £20million refurbished sports centre and, perhaps most importantly, you will meet with our students.
Dates: 24–29 June This Summer School is only open to students from England, Scotland, Wales and the Isle of Man. Accommodation: This is a residential programme and students will be invited to stay in Queen’s University student accommodation. Fee: The cost for the summer school is £195 (includes tuition, accommodation and meals – students are required to pay for their flights to and from Northern Ireland). Scholarships: Two full fee scholarships will be made available to the best applicants – this will cover all costs (and will include £50 towards your flight costs).
